I think for the tariffs to have their intended effect we will have to bite the bullet and hold fast. I do not believe that we (the US) has the patience to wait things out. It's going to take years to bring some manufacturing back, maybe years for companies to accept that the tariffs won't go away. If we blink and lose patience it will only make it worse that it would have been to do nothing.

Businesses tied to Republican former U.S. President Donald Trump received at least $7.8 million in foreign payments from 20 countries during his four years in the White House, Democratic congressional investigators said Thursday.
U.S. House of Representatives Oversight Committee Democrats said the payments detailed in the 156-page report are likely a fraction of the foreign payments made to Trump and his family during his 2017-2021 administration.

Trump's campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

I do believe that if insider trading is illegal for the masses there is no reason for congress to be allowed to do it, the same as anyone with half a brain would agree with.
