What a beautiful dog. I hate seeing them because I want to take them all. Right now, we have more dog than we have room it sometimes seems. Rass likes to lay on the stair halfway down sometimes. She is WAAAAAY to big for that.

He is a sweet boy! Good for Baxter. I hope it sticks!

We had a plan. Unfortunately we couldn't say a normal goodbye. After getting Baxter used to his new house, we took a few walks around the neighborhood and stopped back at the house every so often. On the last walk, my wife and I just fell back as Baxter and his new owner walked ahead of us. Eventually, he faded around a corner out of our site.

Just wanted to send a quick note on Baxter. He's doing really well here in DC and I think he's enjoying his move. He's been nothing but a sweetheart. Zero issues whatsoever. He does love his walks (2-3 times a day) and getting along really well at the dog park. He's taking some curiosity in the other dogs, warming up to the idea of playing and haven't heard any growls or seen any teeth (well, the second day he was here with a passer byer, but we moved on). Definitely a snow dog, loves running and scooping up the snow in his mouth. Anyways, we're having a good time and thought I'd report back in. Thanks your all of your help.

I think we can say it's truly a done deal. From Baxter's new owner...

Just wanted to report in -- Bax is doing great here. He's in good health, eating well, cheery before his walks and getting along well with other dogs at the park. Admittingly, he is a little hestiant at times, in which we back off towards another side of the park or back home, but he also playfully charges other dogs as well at times, all without growls or teeth. Still can't get him to chase a rubber squeak toy, but that's the long term project!

Just wanted to report back in, things are well and hope the same is on your side.

Jason

It just doesn't get any better. Although, with all of the issues he had I had to laugh about the sqeak toy project.

He's come a long way from the dog he was when you found him at the grocery store. Or was it, he found you?

Hey all, just wanted to check in and say Baxter is still doing great in DC. He's adjusted well to city living, no issues. He definitely has a thing for cats and squirrels, and is so excited to go for spring walks to go on the hunt (and they just run up trees). We went to the vet about a month ago and no health concerns plus we now have a "go to place". Anyways, just thought y'all would like to know, hope you are enjoying the great weather.

He has some old and recent scars but for the most part seems to be in pretty good shape. He's neutered, coat looks/feels fine, not under weight, teeth and his nails look good.
I'll take him for a scan in the morning and go from there.

You are 1 wonderful human bean...thank you!:huggy:
