You know my Dad was in Khobar during the bombing. I remember being so freaked out and no one around me even knowing it had happened.
This nation is no longer a sleeping tiger. We are now the nerdy little kid who doesn't even want to know the "kick me" sign is on the back of his shirt. We walk around smiling as we get kicked. It's terrifying and also incredibly sad thinking about all that has been given for us to end up at this place.
Sorry, probably OT but, it's my soap box.
Oh yeah he is fine. I'm sure that he has more scars than I can see though. It just taught me a good lesson about the country. Don't get me wrong I think that probably the majority of the people in this nation hate where we are. Thankfully they are usually the gun toting variety but, I'm thinking that all out revolution is not something I want to have to see happen.I was at Khobar just a year before and I was stationed at Eglin AFB when it happened (13 of the 19 killed were from Eglin). I can remember thinking "Okay, now we're going to kick some a$$". Nothing!
I can see it all coming back again. Just remember... peace is the absense of war.
Your dad is okay isn't he?
Sorry to double post.Oh yeah he is fine. I'm sure that he has more scars than I can see though. It just taught me a good lesson about the country. Thankfully they are usually the gun toting variety but, I'm thinking that all out revolution is not something I want to have to see happen.
