“Of 763 qualifying participants, we then randomised 40 per cent to treatment group. To change the slant of their media diet, we offered treatment group participants $15 per hour to watch 7 hours of CNN per week, during Sept. 2020, prioritising the hours at which participants indicated they typically watched Fox News,” the study said.

The study found changes in attitudes and policy preferences about Covid-19, evaluations of then president Donald Trump and Republican candidates as well as elected officials.

“Despite regular Fox viewers being largely strong partisans, we found manifold effects of changing the slant of their media diets on their factual beliefs, attitudes, perceptions of issues’ importance, and overall political views,” the authors of the study said.

🤣

We periodically turn on NBC4 or CNN just to see what's being put out there on those stations.

Sure is amazing the different news you get depending on the station you watch.

There's nothing on CNN or MSNBC that can be called "news" these days. :lmao:

The outcome of the "study" was predetermined.
Nailed it. Nothing less scientific than conducting research to prove a point you already believe. A hypothesis is not a concept you wish to prove - it is a conjecture you want to TEST - and you test it RIGOROUSLY.

Nothing about any of this remotely resembles what someone might do to execute anything scientific. Was there anything resembling a control group? How did they vet the participants?

You know, I like watching news that is - somewhat - unbiased. C-SPAN. BBC (mostly). CNBC (sometimes). Heck, al-Jazeera.

But CNN is a joke of a network. Anyone that easily persuaded by their programming is not thinking, they are parroting. And every political persuasion has those kinds of people.

And more Democrat voters were created :yahoo:

The only thing watching CNN does for me is make me enraged. I start screaming at the TV, "You ****ing LIAR!!" "OMG, you awful people!" "How can these people be allowed to say chit like that???" Now I watch less stressful TV with fewer social deviants, like "Girls Incarcerated".......

At least the MSN web page has some socially redeeming value. They have access to some really good recipes in their Food and Drink section.
