The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office has received information an individual claiming to be involved with a local rescue squad has been in the Hollywood/Mechanicsville area, soliciting money for the organization. Contact was made with a member of the organization who confirmed they have no members going door-to-door asking for donations. The individual is described as a white male in his mid 50's, and he is operating an older style, white Ford Explorer with Virginia tags.

Anyone with information on the individual's identity or anyone who has been a victim of fraud is asked to contact Lieutenant Michael Gardiner at (301) 475-4200 extension 71966 or by email at Michael.Gardiner@stmarysmd.com.
