Free/Cheap Places to hold meetings.

Folks,

I belong to a club that is looking for a place to meet in the evening once a month.

There are 5 basic requirements for a potential meeting location:

1) They allow beer - We don't have keg parties, or drinking competetions, but our members may like to sip down a frosty adult beverage.

2) They can comfortably hold 40-60 people or more.

3) We can get the same day every month. (Ex: the Second Thursday).

4) It's free or cheap. Some sort of trade would be good too.

5) Somewhere near Solomons, Hollywood, Lexington Park...etc.

We currently meet at Lenny's but we are(will) outgrowing the place.


Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I saw a group come in to Bear Creek one evening and hold some sort of meeting. Bear Creek does not sell beer, but this group brought their own in and had a grand ole time. The back room is certainly large enough for a group like that, but don't know about getting it all to yourself...or the same night each month.
May be worth a call to check.

Check places like the Fleet Reserve, VFW or the Faternal clubs like the Moose or Elks. If one of your members belongs to any of those it shouldn't be a problem.

Coastal Conservation Association

State level is very active in fisheries/bay/conservation issues, the local level is aware of the issues, but comes together every month to talk fishing.

Check places like the Fleet Reserve, VFW or the Faternal clubs like the Moose or Elks. If one of your members belongs to any of those it shouldn't be a problem.

You don't have to be a member to rent out the back room at the Fleet Reserve. Stop in and talk to the manager Bernie. You can't bring your own beer in but we sell good cold ones!

Baseball umpires have their meetings at Nicoletti's, and the ones of age usually stick around when the meeting's done to enjoy a few.
