Freedom of Speech

I'm sorry, anyone who was protesting outside of the Capitol that day was absolutely within their rights to do so. Anyone who broke windows, busted down doors, and destroyed property once inside gets no sympathy from me. They acted no better than the thug protestors that looted and burned during the protests over supposed police brutality. I cannot in good conscience call for the police protesters to be jailed and give a pass to the people who were essentially rioting and breaking into the Capitol on January 6th. They brought that on themselves. Staying outside was fine, once they decided to go inside and vandalize property, they crossed the line. You can't be a hypocrite and want to be taken seriously.

The Democrats are sentencing people who weren't even there that day to long prison terms.

Also should the penalty for vandalism be death? Administered by one cop with no trial?

Chad Barrett Jones, 44, of Mount Washington, Kentucky, was found guilty of all nine charges against him after prosecutors alleged that he struck the glass panels of a barricaded doorway to the Speaker's Lobby with a wooden flagpole of his rolled-up Trump flag.

Zoom in: "Jones forcefully struck the door nine times with the flagpole while members of the crowd shouted, 'break it down,'" according to a Department of Justice statement Wednesday evening on his conviction.

  • Prosecutors said he attempted to pull the door open with his hand and was standing near it "when a woman was shot climbing through a glass panel that had been smashed out by another member of the crowd." That woman was identified in court filings as Babbitt.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems another person was convicted of breaking the window, and perhaps she was stupid enough to try to climb through it.
When did trying to climb through a window become a sentence of death. Don't you think a big grown Lieutenant cop could stop a petite woman from climbing through a window without shooting her?
We may not agree but IMO this Lieut. who has now been promoted to a Captaincy was a frightened coward.

And his promotion is very telling of the professionalism of the Capitol Police. The one and only Officer who fired his weapon that day.
And he got a promotion for doing it.
The same imbecile that lost his weapon in the shitter before Jan 6. Most anyone else would have been fired.

Can we say she just said the quiet part out loud? But they're so far along now in Ireland they think they can say something like this and pass it. Take away your freedoms. For the common good. Yay, Communism! We've seen so many countries fall before to such moves. They want to put you in jail now for disagreeing with them politically.

So instead of dealing with the effects of illegal immigration and why people might be disturbed, they're going to try to shut down discussion of it and try to go after people for what they say. Unfortunately for the government, historically cracking down on people's freedoms often has the opposite effect. You can see that in McGregor's response and the response to his call to deal with the issue. It's galvanizing people for change.

But in a broader sense beyond that particular issue, the proposed law is the government controlling speech. Elon Musk, who has become an advocate for free speech since he bought the social media platform X, blasted the move.

The Irish even discussed adding "migration status" as a protected class at one point. Which means that if the proposed law wasn't bad enough, it could even involve going after you if you say something someone finds offensive about someone's "migration status." At that point, pack it in, free speech is done.

"That's the difference between freedom and slavery," Tucker Carlson said last week. "The right to say what you actually think."

We're not quite at Ireland's stage, but the effort against free speech is on the march around the world. We've seen efforts to control our speech here, including during the COVID years, and revealed in things like the Twitter Files. We saw how the powers that be marshaled things before the 2020 election to suppress the laptop because it could hurt the Biden candidacy. We see how the left is constantly trying to craft the acceptable narrative from which you cannot deviate. Most recently we saw a report about the Biden team being upset that the American people weren't buying into the fiction that Biden had done marvelous things for the economy with Bidenomics. So they were looking to "counter misinformation" on social media. Not a good look.

The bottom line is if you have Americans talking about "countering misinformation" and "restricting freedoms," you just may need a refresher on the Constitution. And the end goal for the left is always the control.

Pelosi and her J-6 schemes were one of the most egregious acts against free speech ever.
She and her actions against Republicans and the un-Constitutional jailing of people who entered the capitol was meant to inhibit and stop protests ate the mall and at the Capitol . Many people are now frightened to go to protests, and rightfully so.

These people have been in jail with no bail and no trial for 2 1/2 years now. POLITICAL PRISONERS of the Democrat party.
And what have the Republicans done to se that their civil rights are returned to them.

Thay aint done dick. That's as simple as I can put it.

Where do you get this incorrect information from and why do you keep repeating it.

There have been over 1000 trials and charges levied against the traitors who attacked our capitol on January 6th.

All of this is public easily verified information

Why must you lie to prove a point?

If what you were saying was true you wouldn't need to lie.
