Not just freezers. A couple walked into Mike's Bikes yesterday saying they wanted to buy the wife a bicycle. Said they went to all the big chain stores and there were no bikes to be had anywhere. Mike said he didn't have any bikes for sale either.
Wait three months and there'll more abandoned bicycles than gym memberships.

Its crazy but I bet you're right about the covid hoarders. Earliest I've seen you could get one isn't until early August.

Edit - actually just found one you could get between 6/29 and 7/2

I don't do much of that review stuff and I'm either very lucky or deal with good companies. While I never have used these guys for anything I was just looking to see if I could find anywhere that had a reasonable estimated delivery date for what you were looking for. :yay:

When I got my new bike Academy was completely sold out and Walmart had just a couple left. The good news is that one of the bikes was exactly what I was looking for.

I'm reminded of all the psychos stocking up on oceans of bottled water for Y2K. They're probably still trying to use up all that water.

I hope dryers are in stock because we are going to need one soon. Ours is making a horrible screeching sound and husband has fixed it already a couple times recently. Most recently was a broken belt.

Our 25 year old freezer started dying the beginning of April. We went to Lowes and they had none in stock so we ordered one. It won't be delivered until July 7th! (hopefully)

Maybe he said that because they told him he was literally their last choice after going to all the big chain stores....

I am curious - isn't the only use for a garage freezer fricken hoarding?

If you normally keep a larger stock of frozen goods than your freezer can hold, no. We'd been kicking the idea around for years now, but I have an upcoming 30 day work trip and that tipped us over the line. Meal prep and freezing can take up some space. Same thing with paper goods. Wife has always kept about a months supply on hand. Just our normal. Keeping a large stock during normal times isn't hoarding, rapidly purchasing more than you normally do is, IMO anyway.

Nah. I looked back in his "showroom". It was pretty slim pickins.
Well that's good. I have purchased a couple of bikes from him myself, mostly due to his reputation for helping kids in the community. I never found him that friendly or eager to actually sell so I figured telling someone to take a hike while actually having stock on hand wouldn't be out of character.
