State may fund wellness center in Leonardtown
"ANNAPOLIS — Gov. Martin O’Malley outlined Thursday one of the leanest state budgets in years, less than two months after the General Assembly mended Maryland’s long-term budget woes with a package of tax increases, spending reductions and a referendum on slot machines,.
The $16.7 million wellness center, which will include swimming and therapeutic pools and a modern fitness facility, will benefit the entire region, College of Southern Maryland President Bradley M. Gottfried said. ‘‘This is a facility that is as much for the general public as it is for the college,” he said."
