Bison are no joke. Big mammals with no fear of humans.

In our travels, we have seen them in Wyoming & South Dakota. Tourists treat them like dairy cows but things can go sideways very quickly when humans encroach on their space.

Now she has a great story to tell. By she, I mean Momma Buff. Hey nice pants. Where's you get those?

A 54-year-old Iowa woman who was joining a group of Sturgis Rally motorcyclists looking at a herd of buffalo in Custer State Park was tossed violently around in circles by a bison, but somehow escaped serious injury.

Custer County Sheriff Marty Mechaley said in a statement Thursday, Aug. 12, that eyewitnesses reported the bison charged the woman on Wednesday night after she was attempting to approach a bison calf.

The bison caught her belt and jeans on its horn and swung her around violently, the sheriff said.

She was apparently saved when her pants came off and she fell to the ground unconscious.

That woman, from what I could see in the video, looks amazingly like an old acquaintance of mine. The age is right, she's a rider, lives in Idaho, and attends Sturgis regularly. It also looks like something she would do as she is fairly smart, but lacks common sense and would probably do something like this to get that perfect shot. She hasn't posted on FB for about a month. I suppose only time will tell...

What I hate is, because of the stupidity of these people, they may cause the animal to be destroyed.
Saw a video of a group of people feeding a bear peanut butter sandwiches at a picnic table.

That was the first thought I had. The authorities are going to euthanize it now to prevent a future incident.
