I think the cat can only smell it not humans and it deters them as they hate the smell or taste (ie bitter apple) but I don't know if you can spray that on furniture or not. I would as I said before go to petco and ask them.

I know for some cats the stuff will work and some it won't. or you can even try getting more catnip and refreshing the cats scratching posts with it as that stuff the cats are all crazy over.

We were meam and had our cat declawed on all four paws when he was about 4 months old.

All 4 is totatlly cruel. I did the front 2 but they still have the back two to use if need be and cats can climb trees with there back claws so I been told. The vet even said all 4 is totally cruel now your cat has no way of defending him/herself.

I often wonder if that's why the cat goes ballistic every night.

Just around the time all the kids are finally settled down, and the lights are going off, suddenly this cat wants to PAR-TAY! This thing starts running from my room to the living room at mach 5 jumping from chair to chair bouncing off of any person in the way.

It's funny to watch, but it gets the kids all wound up.

Toxick each vet charges a different price call the vet that you use and ask how much it will cost to get it done with a laser (when they declaw with laser its a lot less painful and healing time is quicker). When I got my 3 cats declawed it was I think close to 200.00 but that was also 8yrs ago. I don't know what the price is now.

you can buy stuff to spray on the furniture to to keep them away from it I think . Go to petco and ask them if they have stuff you can use to deter the cat from using your furniture as his/her scratchpost.

My inlaw sprayed the deterrent on small pieces of cloth and set in different spots on the couch to deter her kitty, it worked for her. Check out this site on declawing, not sure if I linked this correctly...hope it works.

Cats are night owls they sleep during the day and play at night (that is atleast what my cats do) cat sleep atleast 16 or more hours a day. I have 3 cats and they are all up in age so they don't play that much anymore but they do do what your cat does which is get wild and bounce off the walls. I even have one who is mesmorized with his tail and spend time going in circles trying to chase it its funny to watch. Only if you are giving him catnip everynight can i see him being hyper from that.

I'm getting this mental picture: cat leaps at a tree, digs in with the back claws and WHOMP! flops over backwards, smacks its head on the tree, then spends the rest of the day planning your demise.

He doesn't ever go outside without a leash on.

He holds his own with our pug. The pug knows who rules the house....the cat

You never know there might be a day where the cat sneaks between your legs or out the door without you looking poor kitty if that happens. My cats dont go out period the end except on the screened in porch they watch the birds from there and they have never tried to escape out the door to the porch either to go out in the grass.

He really doesn't try to go outside. I have left the door open just to see what he would do and all he does is sit at the door to sniff the air. He really is scared to go outside since he doesn't go out of the house unless it is to the vet.

I had one that was declawed on the front end. Believe me, they can climb with no problem. THE problem was it couldn't go down, so it would continue upward. Many a time I had to climb to the tippy top to rescue it.
