Gas main break...Gate 1

....
Fire trucks came roaring by my building just inside of gate 1 about 10 min. ago. Is there any verification that this is actually true before I start running my mouth to my office mates?

I'm home now

When I left, no traffic could turn left out of Gate One onto 235 or go through to Pegg Road.

Even with my windows closed I could still smell the gas (and not from within!!!)

Hollywood also sent a fire truck and ambulance down.

I read this story in Weird Science magazine--methane-breathing aliens on Titan concoct a scheme to invade Earth. To probe our weaknesses, they transform one of their top agents to look like a human and infiltrate Earth society. Along the way he gets introduced to smoking. When he returns to Titan, he is directed to the office of the Supreme Ruler to give his report. A little nervous, he decides to light one up, and ...

I think you need the presence of oxygen before methane will explode. Correct me if I'm wrong on that one. Another example is Jupiter's atmosphere, which is about 80% hydrogen. When Shoemaker-Levy impacted years ago, the entire planet should have exploded theoretically. But with no oxygen, no combustion.

Nice story though...
