I hope the oil companies are using these profits to build new refineries.

I hope the people are annoyed enough to throw out some of the greenie-weenie law makers, who enacted laws that have caused gasoline refining to be so regionally specific and expensive. How many different blends, and metropolitan areas are there around the country? (Around 16 I believe.)

Bah it's all the SUV (and trucks for people who don't even need trucks) bull.

For once american excess is biting actual americans in their ever expanding asses instead of the rest of the world.

They have no reason to open new refineries. All that will do is stall or decrease the prices and let the oil oligopoly run out of their resource faster. They hardly want that.

Trade in your SUVs for smaller cars and demand hybrid and non-gasoline vehicles and cut out food stamps and put that money into govt funded research for new vehicles, energy distribution systems, and energy sources because industry sure as hell isn't going to do it until there's more money to be made off new technology than they make off currently dirty oil tech.

I remember when I bought my first Honda in '99 and it only took $15 to fill up. Those were the days!

I used to have a gas guzzling Jeep, and would have passed out if I'd have had to put $30 into the tank.
