Probably some self-entitled spouse of a higher ranking officer, ran into a lot of those when Anita and I were in the USAF.Thanks a lot biatch, I sat in traffic not moving for 30 mins and had to poop.
They seem to install them everywhere but never use them.I thought they had those cool pop-up barricade thingies to stop that.
along with new speed bumps to slow you down to give the "guards" time to shoot out your tires...I thought they had those cool pop-up barricade thingies to stop that.

Because there is a Boatswain Mate or Master at Arms Chief telling the E-3s and 4s to not push the big red button. They seem to install them everywhere but never use them.
cost money to use themThey seem to install them everywhere but never use them.
you watch too many movies and TV shows. I bet any guard caught shooting at the vehicle or tires would be disarmed and confined.along with new speed bumps to slow you down to give the "guards" time to shoot out your tires
I seriously doubt they will shoot unless fired upon. The problem with security on a military base is they often ignore the biggest weakness in security. Its a secure base, she is lucky she didnt get a few rounds through the grill and then get the windshield ventilated....
They carry arms for a reason......

Military dependents
A previous "gate runner" wasn't a gate runner at all. One sentry waved them through and another saw them going through and did not think they had been waved through and reacted. I don't know why the one that waved them trough didn't say "wait a minute"
I cant wait to hear what the deal with this one is.
But the base has been there forever. Everyone should know which lanes go where. /sThe thing that astounds me is the number of vehicles that turn into base "by accident". Too bad they don't have better signage out on Rt 235 and on Forrest Park road.
I got stuck behind a semi one morning they were trying to turn around because he accidently turned into the gate.
I suspect they showed the barcode, the machine beeped signaling it read, person drove on without getting an actual go-ahead from the sentry.
