As much trouble as this dog is for me, why does it hurt so bad... just found out she has cancer. Nothing they can do. It's just about taken over her body.

This just plain sucks. :frown:

GD it. Same thing happened to my ferret when she was only 4. Daisy will be 6 in about 3 weeks. And at this point they don't know if she'll get to see it. Waiting on more lab results, but dang...how much more do they need to tell me?

Gawd this sucks.

They don't know. They found it by ultra sound, and by doing analysis of the "pimples" and sores that popped up over the weekend.

The ultra sound verified the results of the xray (Saturday night emergency room) that showed she only has one kidney, and it is enlarged and deformed. The xray showed a bunch of junk in her abdomen that shouldn't have been there. The ultrasound showed that that junk is tumors. She has a large one in her bladder, and her kidney shows several. And there's a bunch of them seemingly attached to wherever in her tummy.

The bumps on her skin proved to be of non-allergic type, and there's an acid or something in it that tells them that they're cancerous tumors, and they're everywhere. She's got those in her mouth, her ears, and just about everywhere else. And those just popped up this past week.

They said that with it in her bladder, it doesn't matter what it is, there's just nothing they can do for it. Tumors in the bladder are not operable and they typically don't respond to treatment. All they can do is make her comfortable.

I'm sorry to hear that PT. :huggy:

Poor Gumbo just had to put his dog down a few weeks ago. :ohwell: He had the same thing, but I think he mentioned him being 12. 6 is so young.

I don't know which is worse... knowing and able to prepare or having it happen suddenly like Alex... :bawl:

I've experienced both once already. It certainly isn't getting easier.

It just plain sucks.

Thanks all. I appreciate it. It just sucks going through this and being so far from home.

I'll check back in again soon and report back if anything from the lab reports on Friday change anything.

Thanks again all.

Sorry to hear. I hope she makes it, but if she has to go, I hope it's quick and comfortable. I know that pets are family members.

So sorry to hear that, PT. I wish I had magic words to take the pain away, but I don't. I pray she goes peacefully and filled with the love you had for her. :huggy:

Sorry about your dog PT. Lost one of my little dogs a couple weeks ago. Old age I guess. She was 15 years old.
