Genesis 3 The serpent made me do it

Genesis 3:11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Remember, Adam must have been a very smart man. God made him the first biologist and botanist. He must have caught on very quickly.

The first thing he did after learning the difference between right and wrong.... he learned how to shift the blame. Eve did too. They at least admitted that they ate it.... at least they didn't make some wild story about the serpent forcing it down their throats....

Adam was the smartest man in the world, until Eve told him different. The buck stops there - the sin of Adam resulting from listening to, and taking the advice of someone else other than God - well, here we are.

According to Flip, The Devil made him do it.

 How? He said, "yep, I did it." He didn't say Eve made him, or even that he was tricked.

Adam was straight up and said he did it. Eve said she was fooled into doing it. Nobody lied, yet all mankind was doomed to die. I fail to see any passing on the blame in this case.

The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit. Underlying message is it is your fault, you put this woman here with me. Because of that, she gave it to me and I ate it. Sounds like Adam admitted to eating it BECAUSE the woman you put here gave it to me. Not really my fault.

I guess you could take that out of it, but I don't. I think Adam knew at the instant God asked him how he knew they were naked that God knew everything about him as well, including everything he thought or would say. So it is with us continually trying to slipe the wool over those watching eyes......
