I'm sure I left out a few. Right now, I can't make the mass update I'd like to do because the character limit in the original post gets reached when I do the update. My goal is to keep everything binded together in the first post, so it's one easy to read directory -- without having to navigate through the tons of questions to find one definition or term.
I hear ya.. the easiest thing to do at that point is Google Maps, lol.
Can you explain what they are referring to when they say "Rescue BOX" or "Medical BOX" followed by a number. I *think* 'box' refers to a general map grid or?
Also I often hear "second call for the medic, no medic available" -- does this mean that the ambulance just shows up, loads, and goes? I assume basic first aid would be given.... but anything beyond that it waits until arrival at an ER, eh?
Do you have any I missed? I know I missed a bunch of basic terms. Brain fart.
To any admins; is there anyway to get the word limit upped on the first post? I'd really like to update it and contain all the information into that first post.
Maybe this will work:
Copy and paste the text from the first post on this thread into a Word document, notepad, whatever and add on whatever additional text you want.
Create a NEW thread, "Scanner FAQ's and Terms"
Quickly create three or four "placeholder" messages at the beginning of the thread (before anybody posts)
Then edit these messages and paste your info into them.
Then delete your original post in this thread and this thread will die away, replaced by the new Scanner FAQ and Terms thread.
I am sure DeeJay would be happy to un-sticky this thread and Sticky the new thread.
I am not sure the Admin's can readily increase the max message size easily, and I can see good reasons why they would not want to -- mainly spam control unfortunately. It's a common Denial of Service attack to create a "bot" that posts hundreds of messages of max (huge) length and run the server out of disk space.
Doing that now.
;Edit -- OK, terms have been moved over too: http://forums.somd.com/scanner-acti...erms-faq-s-basic-information.html#post3964179
The main post will also include an index, which will make for easy navigation. Admins, you may delete this thread.
