...OK, Vrail was able to get me to understand the whole I tunes thing and I can actually get songs from there, into play lists and into my Shuffle.

So, can I get my store bought CD's onto something on the 'puter and then transfer to my Shuffle?

How?

Thanks in advance from the terminally inept.

yup...there is a slot in your ipod (on the side) just load the cd there and press the play and pause buttons at the same time :yay:

...what, use a hammer or just slam the whole thing on a table top until the cd goes in the little hole?

rip with itunes, and it automatically gets put into library, when you plug the pod up it updates right away.

...very much. If that doesn't work, I'm going with echo and stuff it in the hole.

Eff iTunes and their proprietary junk.

So, I downloaded the video AND audio of Carrie Underwood's "Stand by You," which she performed on American Idol's special event. I go to play it on my PC, and it requires Quicktime. So, I do the typical serial cracking cgarbage to go full screen and QT sucks, it's using too much memory and it still sucks. Can't covert it or play it with anything else, because it's an iTunes only file.

So, I go to the audio to load on my MP3 player - WRONG. Can't be put on because of the fact that it's an M4P. Can't covert it either because of their DRM.

So, I just wasted $5.00 for useless media that I can't do anything with because iTunes SUCKS!!!!!!

ok...here is your quick fix...
create a new folder on your desktop or wherever...
under itunes options....have all your downloaded media sent to that new folder...
set the folder as shareable for other media sources...
now you can open it, with media player or anything else...itunes no longer has sole control over the folder

That's because it's an Apple product....very user-friendly.
Lets not get carried away.. the tagging system leaves alot to be desired as far as an ipod goes....

or just right click the file and pick "open with"
