Getting "rid" of pregnant Boxer

Football Mom!!!
I wish I had the room for them!!!! It puzzles me how people get animals, treat them like family and then part with them so easily.

IS that a normal age for a dog to have pups?

Normal? What's normal? Sasha is now 3 and spayed. She could of had pups at 6 months.

I'm wondering if this person with the boxers knows if Mom is pregnant with the same breed.

Doesn't matter at this point. I will take them no matter what and really wondering if this for real!

I was just asking, I didn't know.

Abbey and Buster? :faint:

People are idiots. What is an outside pin?

Boxers should NEVER be kept away from their family. They are people dogs. They are also a brachycephalic breed (short muzzle) and cannot cool themselves as quickly as other dogs. They are also very sensitive to the cold.

Not if you care about your dog. Besides, Boxers have so many health issues that unless you are sure they are very healthy, you shouldn't even breed them.

This was probably her first heat. Boxers are typically very, very late with their first heat, generally after a year and closer to two.

Boxers should not be bred until they are at least two years years old, at which time they can be tested for the heart problems that are VERY common in Boxers, subaortic stenosis and cardiomyopathy. There are other issues but these are the worst.

Ugh...just makes me sick.

Ok....now I have a "general" dog question

If "abbey" gets "relocated" to another home before she has those pups, how is she going to act when she does have them in an unfamiliar enviroment?

I cannot say for certain but I would think if she was in a quiet, loving environment, she will do well. She shouldn't be around strange dogs. If Unix gets her, he is going to have to isolate her from Sasha.

that is probably the saddest thing, that is total and complete irresponsible breeding and they should be ashamed of themselves. And then selling them. The utter nerve of people astonishes me daily.

There are some sick people in the world. Wonder if they treat their kids the same way.

Did I miss the part of the ad that said he's giving baby humans away, or the part where he said he's going to drown the dogs in the toilet if someone doesn't come save them?

It looks like a lot of offense is being taken at that ad, and I have no idea why.

People give their dogs away all the time. What's the BFD?

The BFD is that it's irresponsible to breed your dogs in the first place unless you take the time to research and breed healthy dogs and do it for the right reason :blahblah: :blahblah:. I'm not going to get into all the reasons why they shouldn't have bred the dogs in the first place.

AND on top of irresponsible breeding they are "getting rid" of a pregnant dog when she is about to have puppies. That is just plain stupid.

Hm - I must have also missed the part of the ad which details the sellers lack of research, irresponsibility and reasoning. I definitely missed the part that said the dogs are unhealthy.

You don't know what's going on with them. They may have a perfectly good reasons for everything.

What's irresponsible is the level of animosity I'm seeing over something that nobody here knows a goddam thing about.

Why is that stupid?

Sounds like a good a time as any. If you know that you aren't equipped to deal with a situation, the best thing to do is get out of the situation.
