"Giant" High Pressure Die Casting

Or HPDC as it's called.

So, you like huge machines doing awesome stuff? So do I! This machine, made by an Italian company called IDRA, makes an entire rear subframe for a Tesla Model Y at once. This piece used to require 70 individual stamped sheet metal pieces that were bolted and riveted and glued and sealed together.

This machine shoots 120lbs of a custom aluminum alloy very quickly into the die of which some parts are heated and others cooled to ensure the aluminum all cools at the same rate, no matter the thickness. Whole process takes about 90 seconds... requires no secondary finishing except possibly taping bolt holes for threads.

Crazy thing, this machine the most powerful of it's kind, will only hold it's title for another six-eight months. It's sucessor will make the entire rear subfame for the Cybertruck, which require 8,000 tons of clamping force vice the paltry 6,000 rings this machine needs. Yes, tons.
