Giants' Plaxico Burress shot...

Shouldn't all mention of Plaxico be succeeded by..

"... future Dallas Cowboy receiver."

Someone touched on it above, but wonder how our resident pro-gun advocates feel about this situation.

I saw the interview with his agent, and I saw them ALL pile on about.. "NFL players and guns.. " "Get the thug out of the hood, but can't get the hood out of the thug." "Innercity gun culture"..

My only defense of the act is, he was not in the commission of a crime when he shot himself, though in NY the possession of the weapon itself is a crime.

Someone even had the audacity to say.. "He's an NFL player, he's not a thug. Hire a bodyguard." So we shouldn't have the right to defend ourselves UNLESS we are rich enough to hire a bodyguard to do the defending for us?? The Rosie mentality in this country is deep.

Speaking of Rosie.. her new show was a ginormous FLOP, and there won't be a second one. Wonder if she thought the election of Obama was a mandate for her way of thinking, and the population would now welcome her stupid ass back with open arms..

...I think it's total BS that this man is facing YEARS in jail for exercising his clear second amendment rights.

As I say, his lawyer should be reading up on Heller. I hope Bloomburg does push it so that NYC's assault on civil rights can be knocked back a notch.

I thought that drinking and concealed carry were a no-no. They also got a hospital in trouble, I believe one doctor may have already been #### canned.

:yeahthat: At the most it should be a misdemeanor.

A NYC court room in the not to distant future...

"All rise..."

"Please be seated. Mr. Burrus, I've decided to consider this a misdemeanor..."

"Miss hell, judge. Look at this ####, mahn! I shot myself clean through...I ain't miss nothing..."

"Uh, I second thought...perhaps capital punishment is on order..."

"Capital? That I got, capital. Mahn, I am a PRO-FESSION-AL baller, my man. I got P-A-Y-D, paid, baby. That's why I needed dat nine in the first place, yo' honor. How much you need, baby? We clean this little mess up, right here, right now, dog..."

"Baliff..."

"Hey! I seen dat movie! That Hrothgar dude looked like Hannibal Lecture and ####, man...good flick..."

Any stereotyping of the pro athlete/millionaire idiot was purely intentional and for entertainment purposes only...

Giants: Pierce called team trainer after Burress shooting
Stranger than fiction...wait, maybe it is fiction. Much focus is on the hospital in this article, but Pierce (IMO) isn't out of it yet.
Dr. Josyann Abisaab has been suspended for not reporting Burress' gunshot injury, as required by law.

Abisaab, who's affiliated with the hospital and specializes in internal and emergency medicine, could not be reached for comment.

Police still want to interview the people at the hospital who treated Burress and did not report the shooting, as required by law.

Anybody else see the piece ESPN did on Plaxico yesterday? They went to his hometown of Va Beach and talked to his former coach and showed footage of him being there over the summer working with the youth, telling them how "I walked the same hallways as you - I'm proof that you can have more than this..."

Sad, really. Instead of dodging bullets on the playgrounds of the dirty VA beach, he's dodging his own bullets in da clubs in NYC.
