GMP changed ownership...

According to the mailout, they will also be converting all the people who were just switched to 1.5 megs on their cable to 3 megs for the same price.

Also says they will finally be offering the rest of the services companies such as Comcast offer (VOD, IP Telephony) and already have the ability to offer DVR.

Any bets on whether they get customer service fixed?

Since I already use them, I can only hope for better. Since my cable modem has only gone out once that I recall right now, I will be happy to take the faster connection.

I would just be happy to GET their service - or DSL or ANY high-speed connection. For some reason, GIMP does all of the road I'm on EXCEPT for about 2 miles - exactly where MY house is located. I called them and they basically said we don't have your area connected but maybe sometime AFTER the rebuild is done - check back in the spring to see if we MIGHT schedule it for then. :dork:

Well, you should be excited. You will shortly be able to not get 3 megs of service instead of just not getting 1.5 megs of service. You are not getting twice as much! :huggy:

I already trashed it. Sorry, didn't see this till now. It was an envelope with advertising for 2 months free cable modem and then for $29.99 month after that plus a letter describing the new services/etc and mentioning the change of ownership.

You can probably call and have them email you the letter. I would say check their website, but it hasn't updated in forever.

Yanno Jazzy, they tried telling me that crap yrs ago when I had 1 way cable internet, but an honest tech. who came out one day said all he had to do was flip a switch at the end of my road & I would have 2 way. One flip later and
WAH LA PRESTO, I have full blown cable internet. They were telling my neighbors the same crap until they called em on the carpet. Now they have it too. Try calling them and telling them you know it's there and all they have to do is turn it on. Just a thought.....

No not yet? 911 Do you have one?? I talked to a few peeps at work that saw it but all threw it away... If you need my email PM me and I'll send it to ya..

My dad used to work for them back when cable was just getting started in this area. They had a policy of only running cable through an area where there was a certain number of potential customers per mile of cable run. That might be what you are dealing with, installation costs versus potential customers. I guess it's a trade off for when you get your own seclusion from the masses.
