I read the cable franchise agreement with the county and it says they are only responsible for running cable where there is a density of 20 houses per mile. I'm off the road, but I'm pretty sure there are 20 house within a mile of mine. :shrug:Ken King said:Jazz,
My dad used to work for them back when cable was just getting started in this area. They had a policy of only running cable through an area where there was a certain number of potential customers per mile of cable run. That might be what you are dealing with, installation costs versus potential customers. I guess it's a trade off for when you get your own seclusion from the masses.
I also called them a few weeks ago and scheduled a site survey. Supposedly someone came out and determined cable is NOT available in my area, but never bothered to call ME and tell me. I called them and got the run-around. Basically wait until the cable rebuild is over in the spring and then they will start looking at new areas to run cable and I MIGHT be able to get it then.
