I've done similar. Friend's computers I take home to repair. I set up timers so it emails a help message at 2am, doesn't know where it is...
When we first got a facility UPS at work (35+ years ago) we set up the auto dialer to call the bosses house and say I’m dying. It was a computer generated voice calling from our work line and it did that until it was replaced 15 years later. His kids grew up hearing “I’m dying” every time there was a brown out.
