Golden Chicken / Japanese Grill open in Lusby

Was driving around the new shopping centers in Lusby and I noticed a bunch of people in the Golden Chicken / Japanese Grill restaurant. Turns out they had their pre-opening tonight and they open for business tomorrow (Wednesday). The menu looks similar to the one in PF, but they have a bunch of Japanese and a few Chinese dishes on the menu as well (the owners are Chinese).

I then went by the Korean place. Apparently they've had some paperwork problems with the building inspector and things are in a muck while they try to figure it out.

Anyway, guess I'll drop by and try some of the Japanese dishes tomorrow.

We were eating at Ledo's one night last week and saw them working in Golden Chicken.

Waiting to try them out along with the Korean BBQ place!

Fried chicken :yay:

Onion rings :yay:

Potato salad :boo:

Cole slaw :boo:

The "japanese" food is a fast food version of the teppanyaki places. They cook your meat, chicken, chrimp, and veggies on a grill. You can watch through a window. They have yum-yum sauce.

Wife liked the shrimp and steak, didn't care for the chicken. I had the chicken teriyaki bowl, and it was okay but not great.

No sushi.

Pretty disappointing

I specially ordered a batch of spicy chicken, even told the gal to make it "extra spicy", waited for them to cook it just for me, and took it home. There is absolutely NO flavor (not to mention spicy spice) in their fried chicken at all. :frown: I don't know if something got lost in the translation or not, but I'm done with that place.

:slam:

I wish we had a good fried fish carry out. :yum:

Have you ever tried the seafood place by Woodburns? I know they used to do fried fish, but I never tried it.

I've had the fried fish sandwich at Chicken and Biscuits. It was decent. Maybe their fish and chips would be okay?

I forgot about the place by Woodburns. They usually close for winter. But I'll check there...just forgot about them. They usually close up shop early though (5ish).
