One attempted carjacking? Yep, never going there again.

CARJACKING: On Aug. 16 at 1:55 p.m., a 49-year-old La Plata woman exited her vehicle in the parking lot of the St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf near the entrance to the mall post office when a male suspect approached her and demanded her keys. The woman refused and the suspect grabbed her arm but the woman managed to escape his grasp and ran to the mall. While she was fleeing, the suspect advised he had a gun but the woman did not stop. She ran into the mall and notified mall security officers, who called the Charles County Sheriff’s Office to the scene. The suspect was last seen running away from the mall with another male suspect. The suspects are described as black males with thin builds. The first suspect is 5 feet 10 inches tall and is in his teens or early twenties. He has dread-style hair and was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. The other suspect is 5 feet 7 inches tall and is in his late teens. He was wearing a long white T-shirt and jeans. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer M. Bourgeois is investigating.

One....you must not read the Maryland Independent. Most carjackings and crimes at the mall are not reported because it will cause stress on the businesses. Yep, I have first hand info on that one! :wench:

There is going to be a crime scene anywhere you go....

If you can't handle a carjacking at a mall then go live in a bubble.

Years ago the Charles county blotter looked a lot like the Calvert blotter.

I thank god every day we moved to Calvert. Yall can have the mall and Waldorf in general. Well take our one or two drunk drivers and the odd drug dealer over that crap any day of the week.

It ain't the MALL being here that's causing all the trouble.... And it's not the MALL we need to get rid of to fix the problem....

. . .and beebee's daddy lives north of the St. Charles-Prince Georges county line.

Too bad the NAACP and Democrats in St Charles didn't remember that when they sent Al Smith south in November 2006.

Ummmm. It looks pretty black and white as the last item printed here http://www.somdnews.com/stories/082207/indycri180750_32140.shtml so I don't know what you are talking about. Your first hand info appears to be a little stale, huh?

Big Poppa
That pretty sad that 2 guys are willing to demand keys from a 49 year old woman and claim to have a gun, sounds like some pussies. Crime happens, its not entirely preventable. And there are far worst malls than st. charles.

My first hand info is this.....I have cop friends who have told family members and myself not to go to the mall unless you are in a group, even during the day. Not stale. Ya know, Waldorf has become the hip place for youngsters to go, they have ruined it but so have there parents by not kicking these kids ars when they do wrong! I blame society....parents need to be a little more strict with their children, that way by the time they are young adults they aren't running around like monsters!

This response doesn't jibe with your initial statement that:
One....you must not read the Maryland Independent. Most carjackings and crimes at the mall are not reported because it will cause stress on the businesses. Yep, I have first hand info on that one!

You implied a conspiracy to hide incidents of criminal activity, a conspiracy that involved the local press and (by implication) the law enforcement agency responsible for stopping that criminal activity. You did not say, "The Maryland Independent accurately reported this attempted carjacking. My friend, Officer (insert name here) has warned me...."
