Got Carded

Went to McKays, the one on in Hollywood, needed a few things. Got a few bottles of wine for the weekend. I'm checking out, and I get asked for my ID. I just kinda looked at her, said, "Really? I don't look old enough?" I'm 65. Gray hair and gray beard. I look older than that. Thought about giving her my Medicare card. She said it as a 100% ID request, no exceptions, and there was a ittle sign by the checkout saying that. Ok, I get they need to protect themselves from sales to minors, but come on.....

Some states ...Indiana for example...passed ID laws that make it mandatory for anyone purchasing alcohol to present proof of age to the cashier. That takes the onus off the poor little cashiers and protects them from abuse by crotchety old guys like you.

Get that trailer put together yet?

 Yeah, it's together, but ran into a little issue. The ball diamond adapter that goes into the receiver on the Sling wasn't drilled exactly on-center, so I can't slide the clevis pin thru to secure it. But the trailer tongue adapter you made looks great. I'll see about a picture later.

Get that all the time over the last few years, I just say thank you and show them my ID. Businesses have to protect themselves and 100% ID check is the best way to handle it.

Yep, and it's a pain in the a$$ waiting in line while a few old folks get carded for smokes or booze. Like this will keep minors here from drinking or smoking.

Pretty beefy, visually obviously bigger than the original tube. Hoping it won't lookk so obvious after it gets painted.

Carding 55 year olds for cigarettes isn't going to keep kids from smoking. I get carded at Walgreen's when I buy my vape cartridges, no lie. We've gone to ridiculous draconian measures for something so stupid.

Same in Family Dollar. I think they have to key in a birth date for any tobacco sales. I've been asked my birth date for vape liquid too.
