We've had govt shutdowns before. Did the checks stop then? That was before I was paying attention (read:collecting).

Damned if I know.

This whole thing gets on my nerves so bad. If the democrats wanted, they could have passed a bill before October 1st that the new president would have had to deal with for the whole year but they knew the budget was crap so they voted for CRs until the new administration, then they act like a CR is the worst thing. I'm so sick of all of them acting like this is someone else's fault. Also, all the fraud DOGE is finding is because it has been hidden in these bills and they all have voted for it.

Well: The Schmuck has changed his mind about the shutdown. Now he is against it.
The media could not figure a way to blame the shutdown on Trump and Chuck saw it was the Dems that would get the shaft.
He saw which way the wind was blowing and backed down. Now we won't have to listen to this bullsht every month and the budget is good until September. A big win, even though there is still too much spending in the Trump budget.
Trump set them up big time when he basically used the same budget the Democrats passed last year, and they would have to argue against it.
