No-Cost, No-Appointment Testing at Six Flags Will Be Available Wednesdays and Fridays
State Officials Encourage Marylanders to Get Tested For COVID-19
ANNAPOLIS, MD—As state officials continue to encourage Marylanders to get tested for COVID-19, Governor Larry Hogan today announced that the state is expanding its major testing site at Six Flags America in Prince George’s County to two days a week. The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) conducted 1,686 tests at Six Flags on Friday—a record high for community-based sites.
State health officials will conduct testing on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro. Tests will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost, and no doctor’s order or appointment is required at this site. Marylanders do not need to exhibit symptoms or suspect exposure to COVID-19 in order to get tested.
“As part of our long-term COVID-19 testing strategy, we are continuing to increase access to testing from one end of our state to the other,” said Governor Hogan. “With 100 testing sites across the state and growing private sector partnerships, we encourage Marylanders to get tested—even if you don’t have symptoms or suspect that you’ve been exposed—so that we can continue our safe, gradual, and effective recovery efforts.”
The state continues to deliver new options for Marylanders through the expanded long-term testing strategy the governor announced in late April. Since the announcement, the state has worked to expand its community-based testing options and deliver testing directly to high-priority clusters and outbreaks. The state also announced testing partnerships with several private partners, including CVS, Rite Aid, and Walmart, providing unprecedented testing capacity across the state.

Patients interested in testing at these or any of the more than 100 sites available throughout the state can find further information by visiting coronavirus.maryland.gov and clicking on the “Testing” tab. There, they can utilize an interactive map to locate testing sites in their area and learn how to schedule a test.
The state’s community-based testing sites are operated in conjunction with the Maryland Department of Transportation, Maryland National Guard, Maryland State Police, local health departments, and private partners. There are also several additional, non-MDH testing sites throughout the state being operated by local governments and private organizations.
