We had one too. He was awesome. Very sweet and gentle. My daughter when she was about 1 would sit on the floor and feed him his dog food, :lmao:. He'd clear the coffee table with one wag of his tail and ooohhh the drool. Several times a week I was cleaning it off the floor, tv, stereo etc. So it's like cleaning up after a little one. I can't wait til I can get another one, :lmao:

You have'nt had a boxer have you. :faint:

No, lol. Hubby wants an Olde English Mastiff. I'm sure their drool meter is right up there, :lmao:. I told hubby that he better be prepared for the menagerie of animals that I'm bringing home once we cash that lottery check and buy a HUGE lot of land. Gr. Danes, Mastiff's, horses, Labs, doe-eyed cows that will not be a food source. He was like :faint:.

Who here has owned one of these beasts? I really want to get one but I'm curious as to how much work it's going to be. How much did you spend on dog food, are they good with kids....etc...etc. I was thinking about adopting one but I don't know how good of an idea that would be since I have small children.

Mojo. Why did you not pm me this question?

 I didn't know you were into Great Danes. Help a brother out.

I am into all dogs. You want a puppy or a grown dog? These dogs are amazing with kids. They also crap like man on your lawn (but you are used to that from when War stops by). I will tell you this, having a puppy is like having another freaking kid at times.

I kept a GD for 5 days for my niece. They are gentle giants:lmao: But they :drool::drool::drool::drool: I have never seen anything like it. 130lbs and is only 19months old:whistle: From paw to paw she is every bit of 6ft.

I took the advice that was posted and wore her out with the tennis ball and walking, we did that 3xs a day.

She was great to keep, but not sure if I will do that again for that long:lmao:

My gf had a GD that lived to be 13. :bawl:

When she was finally ready, she went through the breeders to get another pup.

She left in a Ford Explorer Trac Truck not quite a year ago to get her pup and came home with TWO!!!! And they are incredible!

Since, she first covered the truck when the kids got too big for the back seat and just recently bought a van.

Now that there is a lot of dog. :yay:
