Thanks! He is a beauty. All black with a white patch on his throat just like you described. He was very lovable. They just had a baby so they can't provide the attention anymore. He got along great with our lab and kids, so I think he will be a good fit.

No harm here but if you have to ask about how much food is going to cost maybe you should re-visit getting a Great Dane (nickname Heartbreak breed.) Please do your research on owning a Dane if you haven't had owned before.
I've owned 2 Danes so I know of what I speak.
They should tell you what he eats and if it's working or him, best not to change it. As far as how much, I would think they should be able to tell you that also.
She used to work at a vet and recently quit, but she said he eats a prescription food just because it was way better and she could get it for really cheap. So she said we can change it to anything we want. So that's why I was looking for recommendations. We just switched our lab to Blue.
For my dog, I have tried ALL (and I mean all) the expensive stuff, everything she ate seemed to go right through her, finally switched her to Beneful Puppy and not only does she love it, she's doing really well with it.
That's good What kind of dog is she? We used to feed him pedigree. Recently he started to shed a lot and had a few balding spots so the vet thought he developed an allergy to the grain (which honestly we didn't know was like us eating McDonalds everyday). He is doing a lot better and his hair has grown back.
She's a white Shepherd, although you can't tell from my av, because she loves mud.
lol, cute!
Remington loves the mud as well. Here is a picture of him avoiding looking at me because he's not supposed to be on the couch.
We just got done meeting a three year old Dane we are more than likely going to get. But I wanted to know how much should we expect to spend on his food? Also, what brand of food do you recommend? Thanks!

All of my dogs eat Purina One Lamb and Rice, at BJ's I think its 30 dollars for a big bag. Never had any problems at all.

If you read the Feeding Instructions of the Cheaper Foods, you'll see that they require more Cup(s) per feeding. If you look at the Better Brand, the amount is less. You don't need to give them as much, so it costs about the same in the long-run. Both of my Bostons were Itchy Dogs when feeding the Cheaper Brands. That Breed is prone to Skin, and Digestive issues anyway.A few years back I switched to Blue Buffalo and it's done wonders for all my dogs, I use the grain free, and yes it's pricey but I can tell you I have NOT one time had to take my dogs to vet for any skin issues, nor digestive problems, and bloat/torsion worried me alot, had not problems there either (knock on wood) - so I figured it's like people, eating healthy will cost you more but in the long run it's worth it - also someone here mentioned Taste of the Wild, I'm sure I'm right on this but check it out to be absolutely sure but TOW is made by Diamond , which has had too many recalls for my liking .
