I'm not convinced either way. It seems the officer was trying to stop the shooter from killing himself. Puts a whole new spin on the whole situation.

The shooter may have been going elsewhere to off himself, may have been looking for #2, may have been lost in a haze in his brain not really believing he just did what he did...the "may have been"s are a pretty long list.

In every way this was a terribly sad situation for all involved. I pray for each and every one's souls.

Looking at the route he took after the initial shooting, it is possible he was planning to exit the building.

Agreed. For me, it is the route he took that made me wonder about his intentions after the initial shooting.

I disagree. It was fair and natural for people to wonder last week, too. It's what people do when they don't know all the facts. :shrug:

However, since this is the hill you want to take your stand on - so be it. But let's wait until the family releases more information about their son's state of mind that morning before he left for school, or the night before. Otherwise, anything we say right now - is pure speculation and gossip.

We don't know what his plans were. We don't know if he planned to shoot himself all along. We don't know if he planned to shoot himself right by or right outside that door. We don't know if he thought he could get away with it. We don't know...

I am certain the family could not read this boys mind any more than anyone else could.
If they respond further it too is speculation and it really makes no difference in the long run what he planned to do or not do.
