Great spots/parks in southern Md for family photos

Our photographer is in Fredericksburg, but is willing to drive up this way to do our outdoors family photos. I can't think of anywhere around southern Charles Co that would have a nice backdrop. It's been YEARS since I've been to Gilbert Run Park but I was thinking about suggesting there.

Any suggestions?

Gilbert Run. :yay: I just did my brother's senior pictures there last weekend and the leaves were beautiful. There were quite a few families there that day doing family photos.

Try the "on Watch" Navy Memorial, on Sol. Island; perfect background for water scapes, and the statue is awesome! Google it if you do not know hwere it is... a very hidden place, but great!

The grounds of St. Thomas Manor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia come instantly to mind. A breathtaking view of the confluence of two rivers, unique historic site including cemetery, meditation garden across the road, ample parking, free access anytime, and just a mile or two from Route 301 at Bel Alton (on Chapel Point Road) which your photographer should find convenient.
