Greenbrier Neighborhood

Hi, I'm new to the area and just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Greenbrier Neighborhood in Lexington Park.

I don't mind being out of the traffic area. It seems close enough to base. Know anything about the new construction going on there?

We almost built there. There seems to be some 'good' sections and some sections where the houses don't seem very well kept or their yards are a wreck. I'm not big on HOA's that are very strict but having dozens of plastic yard ornaments in your yard or crap on the side made me question what might become of some of my neighbors dwellings. I also didn't get much of a feel of community there, but that might well be based on street. We wound up not building simply because the builder couldn't get their act together and we found something in Cedar Cove in the meantime that was a better fit. Best wishes!

I live there, great neighborhood, super convenient to the base. Outside of any area considered troublesome in Lexington Park. Close to all major shopping and schools. Low HOA fee's, very well kept with new street lighting entering subdivision, new park, and mostly populated by Military, Retired Military, local area contractors, and other business professional. :howdy:

Did you go to the HOA meeting tonight? I forgot.

Accurate observations I'd say. It's a somewhat eclectic hood since it's been in development for almost 15 years. As a result, you have an eclectic mix of home styles as well as some older homes showing signs of wear and "seasoning" mixed in with brand new homes that have just been built.

 We power washed the house last weekend.
I wanted to go, but also forgot as soon as I walked in the door. I wanted to see what the next wasteful project is going to be.

I emailed the HOA about getting trash cans at the BBall courts a while back, they said something to the tune of residents will be tempted to throw their trash there instead of a trash service

I have lived in the Greenbrier subdivision for over eight years. It is a nice quiet family oriented place to hang your hat. The property values have stayed consistent with the market, and I would not hesitate to recommend buying here.

I was pleasantly pleased to see kids on the court yesterday. They actually had a game goin' on, instead of just hangin' out.

Sorry, been off line for a bit. Thanks for the feedback. I understand a new section is opening in the front. I am still looking around though. Any other good areas where I can find a nice home with a basement for under $300K that's close to the base?

Stanley Martin just lowered the prices for all their new homes that they're building in Wildewood. You can get a single family, detached home with 2 car garage and full basement for $250's down there now.

I've also heard that that base price can get pretty costly when you add in the items that Stanley Martin doesn't provide....such as door knobs for the kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, etc. Not sure if it's true, but it is what someone told me.

Can anyone clarify?

We wanted a basement as well, but in the end we converted the 'formal' living room into a bonus room and that has worked well for us. Just an idea. We also made sure we had a roomy attic for storage.

Where at? Every house I had looked at was over 300K some were over 400K?
