I've also heard that that base price can get pretty costly when you add in the items that Stanley Martin doesn't provide....such as door knobs for the kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, etc. Not sure if it's true, but it is what someone told me.

Can anyone clarify?

I wouldn't doubt it..When I had my other two houses built I didn't pay that much for upgrades...It is cheaper to do it yourself. As for Wildewood..I asked about the Loft area..It was 40K to have them finish it : 0

We wanted a basement as well, but in the end we converted the 'formal' living room into a bonus room and that has worked well for us. Just an idea. We also made sure we had a roomy attic for storage.

That was probably a good idea..From looking at houses with basements around here..Seems like alot of them had problems with mold...Guess it is a MD thing..

What am I missing..I just looked and they were all over 300K

ETA...I just found under 300K COOL maybe I will buy here after all :yahoo:

Yea, looked in Wildewood. Garages in the back of house which pretty much mean no yard. I thought Wildewood was supposed to be known for the beautiful trees. The new section looks more like Northern Virginia now. Would like more of the country feel.

Where at? Every house I had looked at was over 300K some were over 400K?

Wildewood (Primrose) starts at $259K. The TH's start at $209K. It's right on Stanley Martin's website. Myrtle Point (heading towards Calvert from St. Mary's) is a little pricier - the lots are bigger and so are the houses.
