If you are military or DoD and can get on base, this campground is super cool! It's right on the water, very well maintained, and has great amenities not only at the campground but of course everything on base.

We *just* got set up and inside before the wrath of God hit. Wind is blowing pretty good and raining. It's supposed to be rainy tomorrow, then blue skies and mid-70s for the rest of the week.

I was worried that I'd be disappointed in this part of the journey because I loved it out west so very very much. But the laidback FL vibe is calling me and now I want to live in shorts and flipflops all year, eat at fish shacks and admire the palm trees.

I just got around to uploading this video. It's our hail storm from 2017. The campground is right on the point where the St. Johns river meets the Atlantic ocean. The storms in this area are epic with lots of heavy winds and hard rains. This time we got plenty of hail which is uncommon for this area. Heads up.
