Maggots Found in Patient's Nose at VA Hospital

Salem, Va. (AP) - The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem has double-checked procedures for keeping out flies after a nurse found maggots in a patient's nose.

Spokeswoman Ann Benois says the patient was unharmed, and was unaware of the problem until a nurse discovered it. She says the insects were removed with a sterile wipe

Eeeeewwwwwww...

SHHEEWWWWW, good thing, we wouldn't want those insects to get infected with anything.

I had to call the Health Department last week because a local Grocery Store had maggots on the Roast Beef in the Deli.

I was impressed, HD was out in 24 hours called me back and the problem was immediately solved.

Before you ask, I did go to Store Management first... which told me there was nothing they could do about the flies because fly strips were a violation.

In other maggot news...

Maggots Make Medical Comeback

Washington (AP) - Think of these wriggly little creatures not as, well, gross, but as miniature surgeons: Maggots are making a medical comeback, cleaning out wounds that just won't heal.

Wound-care clinics around the country are giving maggots a try on some of their sickest patients after high-tech treatments fail.

Helpful little buggers...

What kind of answer is that? People need to know where it's not safe to shop.
If I thought one place was safer than another I'd give your comment a seconds thought. Since I don't.....

I've never seen maggots crawling around in a Deli, so one place must be worse than most. If you're not going to tell people where it's bad to shop, why did you even bring it up?
