A burglar trying to break into a home on M-36 in Unadilla Township, west of Pinckney, got a rude surprise when a German shepherd bit his hand as he reached into the house.

Police said the burglar was trying to force his way through the home's back door but didn't know the house contained two German shepherds.

The burglar was able to get his hand inside the house, but nothing else before the dogs defended their home, near Livermore Road.

After being bitten, the burglar fled the scene without taking anything.

The Unadilla Township Police Department is investigating.

1. I can't believe he didn't hear the dogs pitching a fit

2. Just his hand huh?? I'm surprised his arm wasn't still at the scene. :lmao:

Maybe their owners had gotten their vocal cords removed, like some guard dog companies do, so that the burglars wouldn't hear them coming?

I can see a lawsuit coming out of that since the "victim" wasn't warned before getting bitten.
