Security Guard: 'God Guided Me And Protected Me' - Denver News Story - KMGH Denver

"I saw him coming through the doors" and took cover, Assam said. "I came out of cover and identified myself and engaged him and took him down."

About 7,000 people were on the church campus at the time of the shooting, said Boyd.

Murray was carrying two handguns, an assault rifle and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, said Sgt. Jeff Johnson of the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Guns are for girls, too!

:lmao: Okay .... I hate to say this, but this "girl" looks like she could have been a man at one point in his/her life.

The way our Court System is setup - some lawyer will contact the gunman's family and file a lawsuit against Jeanne Assam!

It's sad that a church NEEDS armed security guards, but it's great that they had them instead of declaring themselves to be a Gun Free Zone.

Isnt it a damned shame that a Chuch has to have an armed security guard?.
Isnt it a blessing that they did?

This woman has balls ya gotta give her that. There is no telling how many lives she saved. They give a woman of the year award to a scumbag like Jane Fonda, when here is a woman that deserves that recogniion.

This whole thing is more or less a copycat thing now. As more and more we see suicidal nuts who used to go off and kill themselves quietly, now wanting to take others with them.

Maybe she is used to be a police officer. The name shows up on this Minnesota website.

Assam worked as a police officer in downtown Minneapolis during the 1990s and is licensed to carry a weapon. She attends one of the morning services and then volunteers as a guard during another service
Good find :bigwhoop:

Good find :bigwhoop:

So she is pretty much just a regular citizen with a concealed carry license. She definetly deserves recognition for her heroism.
Weird that I haven't heard or seen alot about her on the main stream media, just mostly generic statements about a security guard or a cop taking out the bad guy.

In My Opinion
with better gun control laws we could have freed up a few more spaces in this country for some more illegals.

...story is she is an ex cop, very religious, the church has a staff of 12 security, 6 armed, full time, because they are so big.

She reacted very professionally. Drew her weapon. Took cover. Assessed the situation. Recognized the threat. He moved her direction. She revealed her self, identified herself, ordered him to drop his weapon, he refused, she put him down. Sounds like she did a superb job.

The MSM does NOT want a gun used successfully for self defense. They do NOT want it done by a woman. They don't like the location. They sure as hell don't like that she doesn't come off as some maniac.

Watch the clip. She did well.

She did a good job, but with a handgun against a rifle in this situation where you have an active shooter that has already killed people, to hell with telling him to drop his weapon. I'd of stayed covert as possible until the time came to fire. Rifle vs handgun she is lucky to be alive.

Like I said, it is hard to question that part of her actions because she is a hero and it all worked out, but I doubt I'd of confronted him with a vebal command.

Trainings...

...training, right? That's what she was trained to do, obviously trained well and it all worked when she was under the gun, so to speak.

That's one of the many problems we have as lawyer nation; had someone trained her to get the best possible shot, , ie, safest to her, quickest to neutralize threat, etc, including in the back, in the head, multiple shots, etc, as would be perfectly reasonable in this situation, she'd be crucified by some defense lawyer as a gun crazy killer who was more interested in shooting someone than 'making the best possible decision' like seeing if he was gonna quit, or would quit if ordered or ran out of bullets or tripped and fell and lost his weapon or had a change of heart etc, etc...

We put so little burden on the bad guy anymore in this country.

In a way I agree Larry, but here is all that has to be said, "In this post 9/11 world.............." Bam she is off the hook, plus this happened in CO not MD so she would be fine as it was.

As far as a lawsuit after a shooting of any type it is almost a guarantee it will happen, but in cases like this no chance of the "good guy" being found guilty criminally or civilily.

Masad Ayoob has written extensivley on this topic.

...disagree at all. I'd love it if Massad would come out on all the shows and say she was an idiot for giving the guy a chance at all and explaining why. He could use the example of reporters jumping all over a statement someone makes and taking it out of context vs. asking someone to clarify what they said before running with it.

They'd be stumped. :lmao:

edit; bought a consonant/thanks nh :lmao:
