Had to lay Boz down today

You mentioned it after we got to Dutch's. And I told you I hate that area and the Route 4/235 mess, coming off 4, heading south. The intersection by Best Buy just scares me. Way too much going on there.

I'll keep my eye out for a lime green SUV, Dutch, and get a tag # if I see her, if that would be any help. Don't know if it would be after the fact.
Thanks but it's probably way to late now.

Glad you're OK Dutch. Were it me I would be glad to have had the whole back ripped out of my pants because I know what I'd be doing all over the road. Parts of my body go back inside when I hear of things like this happening. Again, glad you were able to post about it.

If I stayed up I would be in the hospital right now getting an SUV removed from my chest. I had nowhere to go but down. I left the bike and went my own way. Until you are in every situation you can't say that.I'm here to tell you I had to put her down.

APS's point is that if the bike had enough room, and a low enough initial speed that the friction from the bits that were sliding (exhaust, pegs, and handlebars) could stop it before impact with the SUV, then the friction of two rubber contact patches and maximum braking most likely would do the job too.

Now, perhaps if the bike had enough speed that it did hit the SUV, you might have a point, but then you would most likely have followed the bike into the SUV. A person having not much more friction than a bike on its side.

Sure am glad you're OK, Dutch! Not our driving we have to worry so much about, it's all those other crazies out there...

Leaving my house for a nice ride. Coming to 235 on Old Rolling Road. Woman in a lime green SUV with Florida tags pulled across form the cross intersection towards Best Buy. Never even slowed down. Never even stopped. I know she saw me because I slid right up to her door as she was pulling across the road. She never stopped at the stop sign. I can understand if she didn't see me but she never even stopped to see if I was okay. Torn jeans was all I got but I can't ride Boz like she is. WTF is the matter with these people. I hope this person feels guilty as hell for not stopping! If you're out and about on your bike, make sure you are expecting everybody to try to kill you! BASTARDS!

It's not just bikes that people can't see. People are always cuttin' me off, pulling out in front of me, etc. I can't figure out if they're stupid, or just don't give a flyin' ####.

They are stupid.

Agreed. They are stupid. Doesn't matter if I'm in the truck or on the bike, when I travel thru there I assume I'm going to get hit and have eyes everywhere. Can't let your guard down for a second.

Glad to hear you weren't hurt Dutch.

Where is he? I saw his marks on the street taking some movies back today.
