The Ghost walk is based on real events. They take you to the places that are haunted and reenact the event that made it haunted. Point lookout is one of the most haunted places in the county. If you have ever seen the ghost hunters show on TV. In one of the episodes they went to point lookout.

Messing around with real ghosts is just plain crazy.
What a load of crap.

Which part:jet:
Primarily the last part.

Also, I'm unsure as to how the Kiwanis Family conducts the Ghost Walk but the park and it's volunteers (who still volunteer) placed together a more historical than storied walk. From what I've gathered in the past few years, it's stayed relatively the same, just downsized a bit here and there.

I laugh at anyone that attends these walks and or expects to see or feel anything ghost related. I for one have camped down on the point more than 10 times that i can remember and have no seen heard or experienced anything more than some drunks fishing at 4 in the morning.

Ghosts are fictional as far as im concerned :coffee:

I'm not sure if it was the ghost walk per se that I went on, but one Halloween a ranger down there told a story that gave me goose bumps and those stories don't usually bother me at all.

I've been down to PLO hundreds of times with nothing happening. However, it only takes one unexpected moment to really blow your mind.

You can go to a particular location ten times or a hundred times and have the advantage to explain everything that is there and everything that had happened, rationally. The problem lies here: How often can you not explain things on a rational basis? Every great once in a while there is an event that happens, which cannot be explained rationally. The debate begins as to how you account for this.

one of the admin.s on somdgh.org has a couple pictures up of ghosts....these don't look as if they have been photoshopped either. He seems like he has ghosts following him around everywhere he goes.

Which photographs? I love photography but I believe most photographs can be easily debunked. It's just a still moment in time and you cannot necessarily say that it's a moving energized intelligence. A moving picture is much more plausible I think, as with voice recording.

This is just my personal opinion though, take it with a grain of salt.

I know what you mean. I was a non-believer until a whole slew of events changed that. I really don't like debating the topic (although I love debating) because this is something in life where you have to experience it or "see it" to believe it. I don't harp on others explaining why they should believe moreso than not. Probably the thing I hope to accomplish more than anything is for others to have an experience or two. I also hope to someday explain all this in my own terms, philosophically, empirically, and subsequently scientifically. The topic also adds a few other elements which I love that include history, historic preservation, psychology, and sociology to name a few.

Plus, it's really neat to scare the bejesus out of everyday folks with some personal ghost stories.

I venture out and about throughout Southern Maryland, sometimes more abroad. When I have the time and money I am usually up for anything. However, that seems to be a large problem at the current moment with most of my time and money devoted to my school studies.

Well, can you help jwwb and Jameo pass it on for me? If you can come up with the time, all you really need is gas money. It's only 165 miles for you

I am just trying to help everyone here. Spirits are not somthing to be messed with. I know first hand. I could hear a ghost in my house one time and had to sleep in the closet. Then the next morning I woke up with a soar back.
