Halloween thugs

My son was trick-or-treating on town creek drive on Halloween when two teenagers pushed him down from behind and stole his bag of candy. His older brother, who was with him, gave chase but lost them around linden lane. If anyone knows anything about this, please send me a private message. I really want to find the scumbags who did this.

Mikey,

For some reason, this sort of thing is universal on Halloween. It happens from Maine to SoCal, from Seattle to Key West. Little boy losers beating up on children and pretending that they are in the 'thug life'? Why?

It never happened to me, but it did to my friend Khalid. He was a slight Iraqi Christian (known as Chaldean in Detroit) and got picked on like you read about in 'Picked On' magazine. On Halloween night he was thrown to the ground, beaten, and his candy stolen. The next year, Khalid and I took it upon ourselves to grow up and walk the neighborhood behind the children. We carried military-grade pepper spray and clubs. Some things were attempted, and, uh, some teenaged boys got badly hurt.

It was a pretty sad Halloween for the pirate tonight, Vrai.

Every Halloween mother Mengele used to give out celery sticks and government pamphlets warning against drug abuse (the ones with the X-d out eyes). She might throw a particularly dear neighbor a hard-boiled egg.

Last night I ran out and bought $60 worth of sweets at BJs in hopes of treating the kiddies to a good old-fashioned Halloween with nary a thought to the dangers of PCP or venereal warts. I bought the good stuff, too, including Raisinets and Sunkist Fruits. I even bought Ghirardelli and Ferrero Rocher chocolates for the parents.

I sat outside for 3.5 hours and served up 2 kids. I got chilled to the bone. (So don't you make fun of my needing some anti-freeze!)

I could bring the remaining 99% of the candy to work tomorrow and watch the civil servants feed. But I think I will take my lunch hour to drive it up to the woman's shelter in Hughesville.

"If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about the answers."

I had some un-costumed teenagers come by and hold out their shirt tail and tell me "this is my bag".

They got raisins

We stopped at a house, where the homeowners were making the kids who got their before us (not wearing costumes) sing for their candy. It was quite entertaining.

Sorry about what happen to your son, I hope they find the kids that did it! Bullies make me sick! I have a 15 year old who bullies all the time, ( who looks like he is 20), I have tried everything to make him understand how hurtful he is to other kids. But he just gets off on the power trip it gives him. I tell him one day someone bigger will come along and then he will know how it feels. But at 15 he will not listen, because I am stupid and he knows it all.
Again, I do feel for your little boy and am hoping they find the little a$$ho#es!!

Pay someone to kick his ass really good. Humiliation is a good motivator :yay:

OR lock him in a room for 12 hours with CareyHartfan. Be advised, if you do that his brain will be wiped clean and you will have to start over right from potty training.

So did we.. we had two bowls.. one of candy bars (that was MY bowl) and one with dried apricots, raisins and granola bars (BG's bowl).

Had a little batman come up maybe 5 years old, held out both bowls said pick what you want.. I think he picked a Butterfinger bar, then I told to go ahead and get something for Dad too.. he picked up a granola bar!!

Look, if you can do better you are sure welcome to try! He was adopted from foster care at age eight and we have tried everything with him! Counseling, meds, positive reinforcement. SOMETIMES, I think "Is this why you were in foster care?" Its very hard trying to raise problem kids!

I know it's hard with foster kids, your hands are pretty well tied.. but the beatings should have begun 7 years ago.

I feel for this happening to your son. I have a young son myself and I know he would be crushed if this happened to him. The best suggestion I can give though is in the future to go with him while he trick or treats. Unruly teenagers will be less apt to mess with him if mom or dad is right there with him. I would be more than happy to donate the 3 bags of sugar my kids raked in last night if it will help.
