What's so happy about today?

Supposed to meet with a teacher about my son's attitude - amazingly this is the 100% kid, not the one that's struggling. Unfortunately for the school I'm the one with attitude today so pray they survive me.

I'm thinking this must be in reference to your "middle school" age child since I pretty much have a daily discussion with my 7th grader about attitude adjustments.

The way I explain it to my son is that he will go thru the rest of his life dealing with people that rub him the wrong way. He has two choices, one is to fan the flame of friction, thus making a situation or environment continuously negative, or he can chose choice two which is to mentally evaluate the situation or friction and determine the best way to defuse it thereby making an unbearable situation or environment a little more tolerable. Almost daily he brings up situations where he has had either a big or little confrontation with either another student or a member of the school staff. We talk thru what happened and I help him to look at the situation from both perspectives and to determine whether or not he could of gained from coping attitude. It really gives me insite into how my son thinks and it gives me opportunity to practice what I preach in my own daily dealings.

This all may be irrelevent to you and your current situation, but I can relate and figured I'd put in my opinion on the subject of "attitudes".

Good Morning All! Woke up at 4:50 this morning to the dog sh*tin' on the bed. Threw the whole comforter away! He's never done that before, I don't know what got into him. Oddly, I'm wide awake got into work 30 minutes early and I'm leavin' work 30 minutes early.....to buy a new comforter. :duh:
That was my day yesterday, only with dog vomit. And it wasn't my comforter, it was the new carpet. :ohwell:

Happy Wednesday everyone! :howdy: Have a good one!

That's the one I thought it would be about. Instead it the one that just turned 10 yesterday. After hearing what they said, I agree that his attitude needs adjusting. Honestly though, the older one started puberty at 9 and he's 13 now (and needs to shave). The 10 year old must be following in his steps. :sigh: So much for having at least one be an easy child.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). In most of the situations you'll encounter today, the real decision makers are behind the scenes. Make sure you're talking to the right person. Little ones try to explain feelings but act out terribly instead. Remember who the adult is.
Okay, RoseRed and Vince. Remember - I'M the adult. :lmao:

Good morning everyone! Well, what's left of it anyway. Busy day! :howdy:
