Didn't make as much this year. Only one #2 crock's worth. Sat in the basement in Cumberland since the last weekend in Oct. Made six quarts plus enough for New Years Day's pork roast. So good I ate some right out of the crock.


Have to make sure I set a quart aside for Gilligan.

I didn't know that...just know it's good.

My father had to have on New Years every year...and black eyed peas for luck. I can't eat a black eyed pea.
Toss a ham bone in, preferably with some bits of meat which will fall off and become part of the broth. Heaven on earth!
