This never made any sense to me under anyways. Oh, you paid every penny of social security taxes as every other working American. But we are going to arbitrarily reduce the amount you get because you worked for the government.

That's okay; I'm not counting on it, for the simple reason that Congress will just jack up our taxes.

Same, not a govt/state employee so this won't directly affect me, but SS is but a small portion of my income. I use it as mad money.
