We live like, three minutes from the CG base, so D and I use their gym sometimes. :faint: I was driving through our mall parking lot and there were about 60 of them boarding a couple of Coach buses.

Makes you wanna stop everything you're doing and just admire the view!

The little one has become very aware of uniformed presence, and always tries to guess which branch of the service they're in (although D is in the Navy, Mini-Me is obsessed with the Air Force ). It's a little embarrassing when he yells "Hey! Look at that guy!". :lmao:

That's great! :lmao:

Bebe and I were sitting at a restaurant a few weeks ago and out of nowhere she yells at the top of her lungs "Mommy, Mommy, it's Santa Claus!" She felt the need to repeat herself a few more times. The poor man was sitting no more than 10 feet away and heard her each time. She was right, though, he did look quite like Santa. Had the big white beard, etc. The greatest part was when we were walking to our car he walked out behind us and told her that Santa's always watching and that she better be good! The expression on her face was priceless!

BTW - Santa's other vehicle is a white Honda Accord! :lmao:

That's so cute! The other day one of our neighbors (a rather large lady) was out mowing her grass. J said "Look at that lady". I was like "uh huh", trying to get him inside as quickly as possible, because I knew what was coming next. "She's mowing her lawn with a lawn mower". "Yup, let's go". "She's really fat." :ohwell: "That's not very nice". "But she is". :ohwell: Luckily she had the mower on and couldn't hear us, cause that boy has a loud mouth. :lmao:

Kids are so unpredictable. Sometimes it's quite funny but most of the time it's quite embarrassing!

The difference is that Katrina was a hurricane, this is a tropical depression. :lmao:

Exactly. Still no rain, or wind for that matter.
As long as you don't float away, please let us know how your visit with Ernesto goes, I'd like to know what I'm in for. :jameo:

School is closed here due to the flooding on the other side of town. :lmao:

That doesn't surprise me. All we got here was a lot of rain. Downtown is flooded about knee high and most streets are closed. Normal schedules are to resume tomorrow.

I hear the storm is supposed to strengthen prior to making landfall in NC.

I just saw on the news that it's definitely not strengthening, and is expected to weaken considerably as it moves it's way north (after hitting land). We'll see. As it stands, I got a kick out of seeing a guy from my town on the news. They showed his house, which looked like a little island perched in the middle of a lake or something. Water two feet high...who would continue to live in such a bad area? :lmao: Nevermind...:jameo:

It seems as if each channel has a different take on the storm. By the looks of the reports, I was expecting a lot more than just rain. There wasn't much wind and absolutely no lighting, etc.

My Mom tells me that she saw one of our local high schools on the news in MD. I guess they were reporting on the shelters here. A whopping 52 people took up shelter.

Yeah, the news channel I was watching cut to a reporter in Myrtle Beach, where they said he was "Braving the storm". Meanwhile he's standing out there in the rain and is like "We haven't gotten any high wind, just rain". :lmao:
