Heathrow Airport Closed Today

Wish me luck - I’m traveling home from Europe today but not thru Heathrow luckily, but this closure will have ripple effects. Currently sitting in Barcelona airport waiting for our flight to Dublin to board. Looks like it is delayed already. From Dublin we fly to Dulles. We do have 2 1/2 hour layover in Dublin so some wiggle room for delays. Gonna be a loooooong day!

Many moons ago, @itsbob and I did that same itinerary, returning to Dulles the day after St. Patrick's Day. Spending SPD in Dublin was a bit anticlimactic, though: very little celebration.

We made it to our gate in Dublin with about 15mins to spare. Looks like this flight is on time. This airport is much bigger than I thought

Heard that Heathrow had issues with power, the backup generators failed.

And I just walked into my house. It’s been a long day - 22hrs - but everything turned out ok. It had the potential to turn south quickly.
