Heeeelllpp???

I think I have too many things running in the back ground... when I hit cntrl alt delete I see 28 tasks running in the background and I think it's slowing me down... all of these start running when I turn on the computer so it's all associated with a start command??? Here's what I have running - what can I get rid of and still be able to be online?

Can I end the task for most of these and run faster :shrug: Also, when I get botted offline on AOL why does it say Goodbye FOUR times :shrug: Help please???

All I know is that you have a lot of stuff running. When I do ctrl alt delete all I have running is AOL. I don't know what half the stuff is you got running :shrug: Try closing them and see what happens. I know not much help, but.

Thanks for the input CC but I don't have any viruses, I'm good about keeping that stuff up to date because I email work home and work from home sometimes, and I'd be in deep crap if I was to infect the computers at work I was just hoping someone would know what those things are that are running... it's all greek to me

Great!!! That's three I can end the task for... but if I recall correctly there's something that you type that will tell the computer not to run those in start up mode... oh yeah... I know the atari one is not a necessary one

AOL related I assume would be the ones that start with AOL. Don't delete them just End task with the others... :shrug:
