HELP! I need a new pediatrician

The Shah associates aren't cutting it. I have heard so many negative things about but I didn't listen. Pushing an elephant up a hill would be much easier than to deal with Dr. Patel in Leonardtown.

I'd like to switch and soon.

Don't know if you would travel to Waldorf but Childrens Pediatricians are amazing, we love them. Drs Smith & Guarinello are so nice and really efficient. They get you in same day for a sick appt and are open Saturday mornings for sick visits. They also have an advice line open every day so that you can ring a nurse for advice.

They are affiliated with Childrens Hospital and when my son needed to see a Cardiologist at 6 weeks old, we got an appointment with a Childrens Cardiologist within 2 days.

We love Childrens !!!

Dr. Sheth in California or Dr. Dhillon in Leonardtown. I have had great experiences with both. I have always gotten the kids in the same day when they are sick. I once called at 4pm due to an infant with a 104 fever and Dr. Sheth saw her at 5pm (on a Friday!).

I miss Drs. like the ones I had a child. He was wonderful and was up all night trying to diagnose me when I was admitted to the hospital (I had Kawasaki Syndrome which he didn't know at the time), he gave my mom his home number but she never used it.

I wouild like a Dr with an actual personality and isn't all about $$$$. I can't even take paperwork to be filled out to Dr. Patel without a hassle.

Is Sheth a Shah? I heard Dhillon isn't taking any new patients.

I take my kids to Dr. Patel and haven't had a problem. I tell them like it is, I know my child better than they do and they don't nickel and dime me either. Do they make you pay money to fill paperwork out?

St. Clements Medical Center in Leonardtown. Not a bad egg in that whole bunch. And they are NOT at all tied to the Shah's. :yay:

No but its so hard to get them to, it took them a week to fill out and fax his shot record to go to school last year.

I know you don't like the Shah's, but I really like Dr. Khetpal. She's in San Souci. Been with her for 8 years, and when my youngest had Lyme Disease a few months ago, after she was released from the hospital she started vomitting the next day, so she saw her that morning. The test results had not come back from the bloodwork they did at the hospital, so she gave me her pager and home phone number in case I needed anything. She told me she would call me when the test results came back. Turns out it was just a reaction to the antibiotic and all her tests came back OK.

Dr.Jean Eisenbrey in Waldorf. I like the fact that she really takes time to talk to you about any problems without making you feel rushed. She is an oldeer woman who wears orangish collored lipstick and looks like a fish but really does good for my daughter always!

:offtopic: She was probably having a herxheimer reaction. When you throw antibiotics at lyme you typically get much sicker before you get better because of all the toxins that are released when the bacteria is dying. :nerd:
