So why buy pull ups? Why not just use diapers? I'm sure the child can tell when she's gone to the bathroom.

Because pull ups are cheaper for me than buying diapers...... And like I said she uses the potty sometimes. If I put a diaper on her then it would be harder for her to get it off to use the potty. Hence why they made pull ups......

They have plastic thingys that go over underwear, too.

Pull ups are stupid. Do you really think a toddler can tell the difference between that and a regular disposable diaper? They need to feel the urge to go and relate that they are either wet or sitting in crap if they don't get to the toilet.

Boys take a little longer. They need to learn the fine art of control. My oldest was about 2 1/2 when we started to train him..that was when he started removing his diaper and crapping behind a chair. I bought him big-boy undies and he was trained quickly. The youngest was 16 months..he was trained at the sitter's where he was the youngest of the kids. Peer pressure :yay: Funny, when he was home and I'd put the big-boy undies on him, he would say "No...diaper."

I don't wear pull ups myself so I am not sure if you can tell the difference between a pull up and a diaper but I do know that my daughter while wearing the pull ups comes up to me and tells me if she has pooped or peed so I guess she can tell a difference

No, Pull Ups were created by the company to get money from parents who thought they were finished buying diapers.

Oh I dont mind cleaning it up if she goes in the panties. It's just for some reason with the panties on she doesnt realize anything more than with the pull ups. She will set there and pee in her panties and sit for awhile like that. She gets up to go somewhere and I see she has peed and she doesnt say anything about it. It doesnt affect her.

Yeah, personally I haven't had luck with the Pull Ups (Of course I haven't had luck with the potty training either) but it just seems to me that the point is to make it extremely, almost painfully obvious to the child that crapping in their drawers is a NO NO...pull ups just kind of make it easier for them to walk around with a load in their pants.

Well I dont know the excat reason pull ups were invented but I know for me they are cheaper. I spend about $20 for diapers for my youngest and $10 for pull ups. :yay:

Put a diaper on her and see what happens.

She's probably just old enough and figuring out the potty training.

Pull ups are a waste of money.

Whatever happened to plain old training pants? They were like underwear, just a little thicker on the bottom to protect the floor in case of accident.

Why use pull-ups instead of those?

They're still around. My sister has them for her girl.

ok.....no bride (or groom) has walked down the aisle in diapers, unless there's a medical condition of which I don't want to know, it'll come on it's own

let'em have time - the more you stress the worse it will be
